This Week's Events in the Highland Lakes (May 1 – May 9, 2026)

A massive week of major events kicks off across the Highland Lakes, anchored by four days of carnival rides and live music at MayFest 2026 in Marble Falls. The Burnet County PRCA Rodeo returns to the arena for two nights, while Granite Shoals celebrates its 60th anniversary with GraniteFest beginning Friday, May 8. The schedule also highlights the 71st annual Burnet Chamber Awards Banquet, several Kentucky Derby parties and a comprehensive live music lineup spanning Round Mountain, Marble Falls, Kingsland and Buchanan Dam. With additional offerings including trivia nights, game days, guided nature hikes, theater productions and library programming across Burnet, Bertram, Liberty Hill, Llano and Spicewood, the region provides diverse entertainment options for residents and visitors alike.

This week's special events span the entire Highland Lakes region — from a four-day carnival in Marble Falls, the annual PRCA Rodeo and the 71st Chamber Awards Banquet in Burnet, and a one-of-a-kind treasure hunt in Llano, to multiple Kentucky Derby celebrations, a community luncheon, and Granite Shoals' big 60th anniversary festival to close out the week.
